Dairy Sensitive? Me Too! Here’s An Easy Dessert Solution @LactaidDairy #dontgetmessedwith

I have received information and materials from JOHNSON & JOHNSON CONSUMER, Inc., McNeil Nutritionals, LLC Subsidiary the makers of LACTAID®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post and I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write it.

Lactaid Ice Cream

I don’t know how else to be honest with you about my personal story than to just get to it. I’m not lactose intolerant but I can’t have too much dairy in one sitting. Otherwise, I get sick…very sick. Over the years, I’ve learned my limits. I know what I can and cannot eat. There is a breaking point, people! And every now and then I CROSS IT because, throughout my life, I’ve wanted three scoops of ice cream regardless of the consequences. Please tell me you can relate.

Dairy sensitivity isn’t always predictable. It’s a fine line and a confusing one. It’s one I’ve been walking since I was a young child. The first moment I realized I had a dairy sensitivity was during a morning shake kick that my mother got into during the 80s. She’d mix up some chocolate powder and milk for the two of us for breakfast and call it a day. By the time I reached school, I’d be bent over in pain and running to the nurse. It took us a few mornings to realize that I couldn’t have that much milk in one shot. A few tablespoons in my coffee? No problem. A slice of pizza or a turkey and cheese sandwich? I’m good! But anything more than that and I am completely out of my element. There are no pills in my life. There are no strict diets. I just have to limit my intake and be careful about how much I eat in one sitting. If I decide to break a rule, I suffer and pay the consequence.

Still, I consider myself lucky. There are no pills in my life and no strict diets that I have to adhere to. Like I said, it isn’t an allergy… just a sensitivity.  I know I just have to limit my intake and be careful about how much I eat in one sitting. If I decide to break a rule, I suffer and pay the price. You know what? I’m not alone. Dairy sensitivity is more common than you think! 1 in 5 people are affected by it in the U.S. When I found that out, I was so surprised! I had no clue there were so many people feeling the same way that I did.

There are many degrees of dairy sensitivity (from lactose intolerance, to the occasional sensitivity) and it all can be managed with LACTAID®. Not everyone who recognizes that dairy messes with them calls themselves “lactose intolerant”, making LACTAID® Dairy the perfect solution for everyone whether they have occasional trouble with dairy or are a severe sufferer. Real milk without the consequences! Love it!

I’m the type of person who craves a cold bowl of ice cream at night, but like I said, frozen treats don’t always agree with me. I like that I have options where I don’t have to worry so much about consequence. As a mom of three during the summer, you can only imagine what it’s like in my house on those hot nights. Ice cream for everyone! Even me thank goodness! My personal favorite? Mint Chocolate Chip. Yum and Yum.

My daughter is lactose intolerant. We've tried the cottage cheese, but I haven't seen the ice cream yet.
