Is it possible that I am STILL FULL from the Vendy Awards last weekend? On Saturday, my husband and I drove to Brooklyn and attended the NYC Vendy Awards and BOY OH BOY did we have fun. Just in case you haven’t heard of the Vendy Awards – let me break it down. You buy a ticket ( I suggest you get the Early Bird VIP to save money and reap the benefits of that extra hour) online and then eat and drink all you want the day off. No tickets are sold at the door. So, this isn’t a last-minute “we have nothing to do today” sort of plan. You need to log this onto your calendar right now! Several cities are included in the Vendy Awards tour – so check their site and thank me later.
Tide-To-Go was one of the official sponsors and they asked me to attend the event and live tweet my culinary adventure. How could I resist?!
So. Much. Food. And not only was there was much food… but there was so much GOOD FOOD. This isn’t the stale over-sized NYC pretzel we are all known for. No. This is restaurant quality, ridiculously delicious, out of control fantastic cuisine. And one truck right after the other. I wonder who makes these awesome trucks? They are so cool. Could they be GM or Ford, or are they special makers? Anyway, I have to be honest here – I only made it through three rows!! I couldn’t eat another thing! I don’t know how some people kept going. I just didn’t have it in me even though I tried so hard!! It was like a marathon — I wanted it so bad. I should have trained harder. LOL.
But what I ate was OH SO GOOD. And Bill felt the same exact way. Tide To Go was there to offer stain relief. You know people were making a mess of themselves with all that yummy food. They were so smart to partner up with the Vendy Awards. I grabbed a seat in the shade and heard countless people telling their friends, “Grab the Tide pen!!” and I kept thinking… genius!
Here’s my friend Natalie using the pen on a stain she got while testing out some food. Oh man. I’m looking at all my pictures and remembering how much fun I had! It was really a great time. That pizza… ate every last bite. And I HAVE to point out GUS drinks – they are SO GOOD. GUS stands for “Grown Up Soda”. Did you know that?? I didn’t. LOVED every single flavor!
Here’s the Tide Stain-bulance. How fun is that? People were REALLY happy those To Go pens were there throughout the day. Let me tell you! No more seltzer dabs for that crowd anymore. 🙂
Are you a Tide pen fan? I don’t know a mom that isn’t!! If you live in a city where the Vendys are held, PLEASE pinky promise me that next year you will attend. You will NOT be disappointed. We had a BLAST. It officially is part of our list for LIFE.
