Son Jung Wan Spring/Summer 2013 Show #NYFW #MBFW

There seems to be a bit of a storybook theme to a lot of the shows at New York Fashion Week this year. Son Jung Wan‘s version for Spring 2013 was a retelling of the Goldilocks tale.  Her version of it was complete with golden gowns and wraparound hair braids reminiscent of that lovely heroine of our youth.  I don’t know how many you are familiar with Son Jung Wan‘s previous collections, but this was my first taste of her talent and I was impressed by her technical construction skills and her eye for a tasteful addition of embellishment.

The looks she sent down the runway embraced the ethereal, fantastical vibe of childrens’ fairy tales – executed in multiple looks with watercolor ombre charmeuse, oversized organza flowers, eyelet, mix-and-match beading, and pastel jacquards.  I guarantee, based on Son Jung Wan‘s collection and several others shown this year at New York Fashion Week, the jacquard trend of Fall 2012 will be extended come Spring 2013 into these pastel versions.  I am so pleased to have been introduced to the Son Jung Wan line and I look forward to seeing her Fall 2013 collection.

Here are my top looks from Son Jung Wan‘s Spring 2013 collection:
