I am a HUGE fan of Alexander McQueen so I was super excited to see the house’s first collection, since his passing. The new designer is Sarah Burton and she has the heavy responsibility of creating clothing that resonates with the McQueen woman, while presenting new and groundbreaking designs, like McQueen himself did. If she actually succeeded is up to you to decide.
Minx, still the hottest thing in nails, created some sleek new designs to go with the fabrics of the collection. Minx co-founders Janice Jordan and Dawn Lynch-Goodwin met with U.K. nail stylist extraordinaire Marian Newman to decide on the designs, inspired by swatches of fabric from the collection. Marian headed the team that minxed the girls at the show. The designs chosen were a gold design that looked like leather and a leaf motif layered over a matte gold Minx base. The natural nails were kept oval and short. The nails were the perfect complement to a collection filled with decadent fabrics and elegant designs.
