Women’s Health Magazine 2011 Beauty Awards

Women’s Health Magazine held their Beauty Awards. The results are in and they look good for your wallet! There were three categories: Readers, Experts and Editors. These categories were then broken up into Body, Face, Hair, Men’s and Makeup. I am a major product junkie so I was pretty excited to see what the best picks were.

The magazine held a reception for their awardees and invited us to stop by for manicures, massages, makeup touch-ups and eyebrow care. I haven’t had my eyebrows done in over 5 years so I took advantage of this opportunity to fix that little problem. The person doing my brows gave me a major tip that I could not wait to share with you guys: Do not use lotions over your eyebrows. Leave that area clean of all lotion. Lotion rubs away the hairs, leaving it more sparse than it would be without lotion. I never knew that! I also got an incredible massage.

Here of some of the notable picks from the awards:

Best Mascara (Readers’ Pick): CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara, $9. I got really excited for this because its so affordable.

Best Eye Shadow (Readers’ and Editors’ Pick): M. A. C. Eye Shadow, $15. I love everything to do with M. A. C. so its no wonder they won in both categories.

Best Foundation (Readers’ Pick): Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation, $28. Okay, I’m really excited that a foundation with sun protection won but I’ve been loyal to M. A. C. Longwear Foundation for years so I can’t speak from experience with this one.

Best Lip Gloss (Editors’ Pick): Chanel Glossimer, $29. This one is pretty affordable, considering its Chanel.

I’m happy to see a couple of things I use on there! The Chance, mascara, and deodorant. Lucky you to get the eyebrow wax and massage too—and good to know about the lotion. I never would hav guessed!
