During one of my recent trips to the market, I picked up Trader Joe’s toilet paper because I happened to be out of supplies in the house. The result? A newfound favorite made from 100% recycled paper without any additional chlorine bleach – all for around $4.
A lot of people are shy to moving over to recycled products – especially when it comes to toiletries and paper goods used on the body. But, if we are going to save the Earth, these combined small moves could add up to big changes down the line. Take a chance!
Trader Joe’s Toilet Paper Review – Is The Private Label Bath Tissue Worth It?
I’m so glad that I did. Typically when you shop for eco-friendly toilet paper, the price tag tends to double. That’s why this Trader Joe’s toilet paper is such a find. I would argue that this is one of the cheapest options on the market and right in my local TJ store.
Is Trader Joe’s Toilet Paper Safe For Septic Tanks?
Before we even get started with my Trader Joe’s toilet paper review, I wanted to let you know that this product is safe for septic tanks. I know a lot of people on Long Island – especially in Suffolk – have to worry about this very issue. You won’t have to worry about clogging up your system with this product.
Trader Joe’s Toilet Paper Review And Details
For around $4, you will get 12 rolls of 250 sheets (2 ply) per roll. I wanted to show you how – even with the two ply – you can still see through the sheets. As an eco-friendly option on the market, I have to say that I don’t think this is an issue.
For the value of this item, you will get a great tissue. Consider Seventh Generation Recycled Bath Tissue – this brand will cost you almost double! For those looking to track expenses and cut corners, this is a great way to not sacrifice quality while saving at the register.
And can we talk about the size of the package? Whether you are living alone in an apartment or a family of 5, a 6-pack is the perfect amount for a weekly shopping trip. You can carry this package up a flight of stairs or store it under your sink with some light maneuvering.
Trader Joe’s Bath Tissue is available in their home care and toiletry aisle. As a note:
- these tissues are not scented
- they are made of 80% post-consumer materials
But How Soft Is It?
That’s the question, isn’t it? I guess it depends on what you are used to – if I am being honest. If you are comparing the TJ toilet paper to traditional paper, you will find that it really isn’t AS SOFT. I am being HONEST HERE. However, if you are comparing it to other eco-friendly options on the market, you will find that it is in line with the rest but priced CHEAPER. So, that’s a major WIN.
So, the next time you head to Trader Joe’s to go grocery shopping, make sure that you pick up some toilet paper and remember that it is chlorine-free, 100% recycled, and made from 80% post-consumer materials… all while being around $4! YEOW! Cannot beat that combo.
