Timberland Fall 2012 And Spring 2013 Collection Highlights At SoHo Store

I love reading fashion magazines – tearing out ideas for inspiration and flagging things to buy. It is an on-going fight for those who live with me to remove all of the magazines I keep lest one day I die in an avalanche of glossies. But real life people often prove to be the best inspiration of all. I work with an incredible group of women and each inspires me in a new way every day.

My current obsession however is with the way my dad dresses. My dad’s style is inimitable. He only wears Ralph and Ray-Bans. He even inspired me to seek out an original pair of discontinued Ray Ban Catz once referred to by my sister’s high school boyfriend as “the raddest glasses ever.”

Lately, I’ve been trying to replicate the look of my dad’s duck boots and leather rugby bag. At the Timberland SoHo NYC store event last week, my sister and I found plenty of items worthy of our dad and the look he’s been faithful to for so many years. I’m sure he’d scoff at the notion that a modern brand such as Timberland could embody the look he likes. Personally, I am always a fan of the rugged chic look, and come fall, I’m ready for leather jackets and lug sole boots regardless of what brand they come from. No need for my dad to be a brand snob now, because Timberland‘s Fall 2012 collection is rife with options he’d approve of.

I am pretty much in an emotional relationship with this sick leather jacket pictured below and the “Nevali Hiker” boots in the subsequent photo.

My sister’s favorite Fall 2012 Timberland boots were these lovelies.

The SoHo store also displays Timberland‘s collaboration with Hartford, CT based denim brand Hartford Denim (shout out to my mom who is from there, making this a complete family affair). Their jeans are a throwback to original Levi’s looks from the 1950s, as are their cut-and-sew unfinished leather duffel bags- both pictured below.

Timberland is also promoting the expansion of their Earthkeepers line for Spring 2013 with the styles previewed below.

The Timberland Earthkeepers Spring 2013 line will also feature traditional-looking shoe and boot styles that are a nod to the turn of the (last) century woman who was more worried about darning holes in her socks than wearing the hottest trends.

Timberland is replete with a multitude of options for Fall 2012 for dads of discerning tastes and their apples who don’t fall too far from the sartorial tree.
