The Parking Spot: They Have Us Covered

This post brought to you by The Parking Spot. All opinions are 100% mine.

We had been looking forward to this day for some time now. It was the sort of vacation some spend their lives dreaming about – were London and Paris ready for us?!  Everything had been planned and sorted; airfares, accommodation, transfers and train tickets, currency conversion… well, almost everything. Due to an early departure and late arrival time in and out of Florida’s Orlando International Airport, with just two days before our big trip, we realized we had no one to give us a ride to and from the airport. Panic ensued.

Although it’s been around since 1998, The Parking Spot was new to me. It is possibly one of the most hassle-free, affordable and convenient services provided to travelers to satisfy all their airport parking needs while they’re away. The Parking Spot is open 24/7 and offers both open-air and covered parking options. When you check in, you are provided directions on which spot to park your car in and then a distinctive yellow and black spotted shuttle picks you up directly from your allocating parking space. The staff were awesome and attentive, even on a chilly morning at 5:30am!

Complimentary luggage assistance is offered both on departure and return so you don’t have to break your back lugging your heavy suitcase up and down the shuttle stairs – it’s all taken care of for you. The hardest part is deciding where to sit back and relax as you are driven and dropped off directly at your departure terminal – talk about convenience!

Making airport parking reservations is easy – either pick up the phone or jump online, alternatively you can show up at The Parking Spot without a reservation, but during peak periods (ie. school break, Christmas etc), I’d definitely recommend booking in advance. Rates are charged daily at $11.95 per day for covered parking and $8.95 per day for open-air parking. I recommend checking their website before your stay as they often provide discount coupons online to help save you even more!

For an additional charge, there were options available to us for car-care services while we were busy enjoying the view of Paris from the Eiffel Tower. These included basic washes, interior vacuuming, leather conditioning, and waxing and buffing to name a few.

Our return back to Orlando was even easier than our departure. After picking up our luggage from the carousel, we headed towards the shuttle pick-up zone and within a couple of minutes, a Parking Spot shuttle was there to collect us and return us directly to where we had left our car the week prior. Perfection.

The payment process was quick and simple and the friendly Parking Spot staff provide you with a bottle of cold water for each of the members in your party which was a nice surprise and much needed after a long, trans-Atlantic flight! I highly recommend checking out The Parking Spot on your next adventure out of town.
