The Painting That Ruined Our Dinner

You see this picture? It’s of Liam HIDING underneath the table in the ‘Fat Canary’ in Williamsburg. Why would a boy be so afraid you ask? What would make him unable to face the world?

This painting…

WHY ON EARTH would someone purchase such a thing? It took us a good 10 minutes to calm the two kids down. I’m not even joking. Natalie was basically convulsing and Liam wanted NO PART OF that green devil. Bill and I kept saying that it wasn’t real… but to a 3 year old that excuse just doesn’t cut it.

UN-REAL.

I will say this  – the meal I had at the ‘Fat Canary’ was one of the best ones I’ve had all year. AND I GO OUT A LOT! The food was ah-mazing. Might revisit before we head home.

It's an ad for a French liquor. They even sell the print. Some people find the green devil/demon "charming".

A couple of years ago my family and I went to this little cabin. There was a painting on the wall of this old fisherman. I'd visited the same cabin a few years earlier and it scared the you-know-what out of me. So this time I decided I wanted to scare my little brother and my cousin. It worked and the painting was safely hidden away under a chair for the rest of our stay :)
