The Microsoft Store Is the Place for Grads, Summer Fun, Back-to-School, and More #SmartHappensHere

Vera has been traveling a lot and just got back from a trip, so I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening festivities at one of the newest Microsoft stores, at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, and it was a lot of fun. The store is airy and open, but still packed with helpful employees and tons of great Microsoft products. It’s a place to really dive deep into what Microsoft is all about and experience it all firsthand, though Microsoft stores are not the only go-to places to pick up the latest Surface tablet, Windows Phone, or Xbox (though that’s not such a bad thing).

Microsoft has built a place for consumers to get world-class customer service from knowledgeable people. If you have questions, from helping you learn how to get the most out of your software to tuning your PC so that it runs at peak productivity, the folks at the Answer Desk have you covered. If you’re not sure what you really need, their experts will help you pick the right products for your individual needs. You can even schedule a personal shopping appointment—now how’s that for service! The Microsoft store even offers Personal Training and free tutorial classes designed to help you learn a variety of topics and tricks from the experts on how to get the most from your Microsoft product.

The Microsoft store wants to be a place not only for adults, but for kids as well, to learn about technology in a fun and friendly environment. Starting this June, the stores will be offering FREE YouthSpark weeklong Summer Camps. The camps will be held between June 2 and August 29 and can be signed up for weekly. The camps are broken up into two age groups, Jr. Designers (recommended for ages 8–10) and Designers (recommended for ages 11–13), and cover topics such as Smart Game Coding, Smart Game Design, Smart Movie Making, and Smart Photo Taking. What better way for your kids to spend a week or more this summer than this?

The Microsoft store is also really fantastic for supporting education. There are always great deals if you are looking to pick up the best new goodies for the student in your life. This is the time of year for graduations, and you know grads today love and need their tech. The Microsoft store is offering MANY exceptional deals for grads, including getting $100 toward the purchase of a PC $599 or more! But, keep in mind, that all teachers and students save 10% always at the Microsoft store!

There are a seemingly endless number of great deals and values offered, including deals like if you buy a new PC, you get 30% off Microsoft hardware accessories. Go to to keep tabs on all the latest.

And, don’t forget about the fun…and my kids don’t…there’s all the Xbox you can handle and more…what a blast!
