When Luke Mercier (Dakota Goyo, Real Steel) heard some noise outside his house, he never could have guessed what he would find. Discovering a young polar bear cub that has been separated from its mother, Luke knows he has to do something to help. Despite the warnings of his family and friends, Luke speeds off on a snowmobile, with the cub in tow, deep into the frozen wilderness. But when a violent storm closes in, Luke’s mother (Bridget Moynahan, “Blue Bloods”) and family friend Muktuk (Goran Visnjic, “ER”) frantically search for the daring pair as they defy starvation and below freezing temperatures so both boy and bear can complete their own journeys home.

This is such a wonderful movie since it really hits on so many wonderfully important themes. Sure, it talks about kid adventures and wildlife, of course, but I think the best part about it was the encouragement to never give up, to fight for what you believe it, and to always take a journey of self-discovery! It really touches on so many ideas that would just love for your own kids (and yourself) to experience for themselves. Plus…the polar bears are gorgeous!!! LOL.
