Holy Smokes! I just had the BEST MORNING!!! Remember when George Papanikolas did my hair for Matrix’s Class for Glass series? Well, I was challenged to go home and try to replicate the same look on my own. Straight up panic attack! I don’t know how to do my hair beyond the flat iron. At least… that’s how it used to be. After watching George’s video (600 times), I gave it shot and wore Google Glasses to take pictures throughout the entire process. So much fun!
First, I washed my hair and dried it flat using Matrix Heat Resist Iron Tamer. The smoothing lotion helped tame my usual fly-aways and frizz.
Then, I began to curl. I took small pieces – one section at a time – and hoped for the best. Do you see my face in this shot?! LOL! I’m cracking up just looking at it!! Yes, I was nervous. Waving my hair is definitely not something I do on a regular basis. But after watching George work his magic on my locks, I felt I had a fighting chance. If you haven’t viewed the celebrity stylist in action, you should check out the Matrix YouTube channel. Talk about inspiration!
Once I was finished waving all of my hair, I finished with Biolage Styling Blue Agave Pilable Paste. A little goes a long way. AND PS – I’m OBSESSED with the smell. This Matrix product molds texture and volume into hair for a matte finish.
I flipped my hair upside down and gave it a little scrunch and pull. Lifted up and took this shot. HA! It’s a little blurry but you have to forgive me.
Flattened everything down one more time to make sure my waves were exactly how I wanted them to look.
And there you go! My very own wave style done at home using Matrix products and photographed using Google Glasses. I still can’t believe that I got to wear a pair today. So FUN!
