When I was asked to watch the movie MY ALL AMERICAN, I was very interested. Bill and I just loved the heart warming stories from Angelo Pizzo, the writer of RUDY and HOOSIERS, so I was very excited to check out his newest movie and talk about it!
Coming to theaters November 13th, My All American is the true story of Freddie Steinmark, an underdog athlete who has dreams of making it pro even given the obstacles in his way. He gets slammed with a life-changing event that affects not only his ability to play, but all of his relationships and the course of the rest of his life. The kicker for me, as it was in Rudy and Hoosiers, is that the guy that’s not supposed to win perseveres through it all. Despite all the challenges he faces, like we all do in our own lives, he always rises above it, making himself and everyone around him a big, lovable, heart warming winner. To inspire on the field during a game is great, but to also be able to do it in “real” life is just that much more impressive to me. Getting a little teary eyed from feeling good is never a bad thing, right???
If you want to get into the movie as much as I am, please see the official trailer here:
