DIY Fruit Snacks Recipe
The recipe I am using came from the America’s Test Kitchen and it was super easy to follow along. I substituted one ingredient for something that I had on hand – but I do want to point out the alteration just in case you don’t feel like grocery shopping today.
The original recipe called for Lemonade from Frozen Concentrate which I did not have. So, instead, I used regular lemonade and it came out just fine. In fact, I used light lemonade and it came out fine. Point being – it doesn’t have to be overly sweet.
Heck, it doesn’t even have to be lemonade. If you have apple juice, use that instead! Make your homemade gummies anyway you’d like! Regardless – here is the recipe:
Homemade Gummies Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lemonade concentrate (or plain lemonade)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of unflavored gelatin

How To Make This Gelatin Gummies Recipe
In a glass bowl, combine lemonade, lemon juice, and sugar. Then top with unflavored gelatin. Stir until the mixture is lump-free.
Place glass bowl in the microwave for one minute. Take the bowl out and stir. Heat one more time for another minute or until the mixture is bubbly. You might need one more minute.
Place your molds on a baking dish and grab your dropper. Fill each mold to the top and then put the baking dish in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until your diy gelatin gummies are set.
This recipe should make enough to another refill of your molds. So, once you pull out your first batch, feel free to make a second batch. You will just need to heat up your mixture in the microwave one more time to the bubbly state. One to two minutes.
Enjoy! Your children will love it!
What Other Healthy Fruit Snacks Recipe Flavors Should I Consider?
I would look in your fridge and see what kind of juice you have and that will determine what kind of homemade gummies you can make. Grape, apple, pineapple – you tell me!
If you wanted to puree some fruit on a really high pulse, you might be able to get some pulp into the gelatin mixture as well. But truth be told, I haven’t tried that yet. I’ve just kept it pretty simple.
