Heading To The Long Island Digital Summit

I woke up excited this morning because today I am heading to the Long Island Digital Summit!! Typically when I head to a conference, I’m hopping on a plane and spending a few days away from my family. Not today. Today, I’m just driving a few miles. Woot! Woot!

I can’t believe Long Island is finally going digital. Sometimes I feel like the only professional blogger on the block. Can’t wait to meet my local peers. Bill is coming too after he drops the kids off.

Anyway – here’s a synopsis of the day according to Internet Week:

The Long Island Digital Summit, presented by The EGC Group of Melville, NY, is excited to announce that some of the top leaders in digital communications will be discussing their ideas, tactics, and lessons learned in optimizing social media and other digital tools at the highly anticipated event. This must-attend event for professionals is expected to bring new, eye-opening, first-hand information to the Island.

Keynote panelists include:

• Facebook Global Marketing Solutions’ Brett Prescott
• Mashable’s Editor-in-Chief, Lance Ulanoff
• Google’s Head of Mobile Sales & Strategy, Elliot Nix
• 1-800-Flowers.com’s President, Chris McCann
• Forrester Group’s Senior Analyst, Joanna O’Connell
• EGC Group’s Digital Strategist, Tony Valado
• JetBlue Airways’ VP of Customer Connections, Michael Stromer

This roster of panelists will address opportunities and critical issues in the digital sphere. Topics will cover the latest online communication technologies, implications of data and analytics in forming strategies, as well as applications and resources available to professionals in order to maximize consumer outreach, engagement and feedback. Professionals will have the opportunity to listen and interact with key digital experts, engage with peers, and network.

In addition to panelists, there will be break-out sessions focusing on: “Mobile and Location Based Marketing – What You Need to Know, Now;” “2012 Social Media Best Practices;” and “Search and Display: How to Improve Your Campaigns.” Break-out session leaders to be announced in mid-April.
