I rearranged my house completely (full photo post coming up on that in a bit) and FINALLY gave myself a proper office. I thought it was TIME for me to have my own space on the main floor. After all, I pretty much work full time from home and have been doing so since 2005. I mean… give me a break!
So, with lots of pushing and pulling, Bill rearranged two rooms into one (it looks good I promise) and we created a brand new workspace for me. I LOVE IT! So happy with the way it’s shaping up. As soon as we got some of my furniture in the room, I told the kids that none of their stuff was allowed in my office. None. Zero. Zilch.
And they sort of accepted it.
But then I heard Caleb playing two rooms over – making his baby sounds – and I thought to myself, “what am I doing?????????”
I rushed right over to my little boy and grabbed every toy I could hold. I guided him to a corner in my room and dumped his stuff all over the floor. Stay with mama.
Stay with me baby. Stay with me as long as you want. And make a mess. And make me crazy. And draw all over my brand new rug (yes, that happened already). Because you are my little one and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Sure, it’s easier to work in silence. But that’s not the life I chose. I’m a work-at-home mom with a baby that isn’t going to stay that way for much longer.
So, stay with mama for as long as you like.
