This weekend, we finally had Caleb’s christening! Sorry it took me so long to write about it – but I’ve been dealing with these chronic hives for the entire week and the lack of sleep has been getting to me.
After months and months of bed rest and complications, we decided to have a really big party for Caleb. A huge blow out. I felt like he was our last child and after all the trouble / heartache / stress we went through – everyone deserved to dance a little. 🙂
Of course, my best friend Audrey McClelland and her husband Matt were the godparents. She is the sister I never had – the second half of my coin. My partner in crime. There wasn’t another option for little Caleb. She was the gal. And her husband ain’t half bad either… even though he busts my chops all day and night. But I guess that’s why I kinda dig him. They came over early on Sunday to dress Caleb and off we went to the church.
We took pictures with our families.
And thankfully, the priest told us we could take photos inside the church. So, don’t think for one second I wasn’t snapping away while the baptism was happening. My little prince fell asleep in the middle of all the action.
One more shot inside before we headed to the party. Look at all of our kids. Audrey has 5 – so the majority of this shot is all HER. But my goodness this picture is ridiculous, isn’t it? Well, some say ridiculous … but I say beautiful. Family is what it’s all about after all.
We all got our party shoes on and headed in for some fun. I think we had about 30 kids at the party and they were bananas. Let me rephrase that. BANANAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I let it go and focused on the party at hand. Whether or not we would get kicked out was another story.
Great day with friends. Great day with family. I am so happy Caleb’s christening happened and is behind us! This year was a big party year for us with Natalie’s communion, her birthday, Liam’s birthday and then Caleb’s christening all within 4 months.
I have to go donate blood now for the next year or so to make up for the lost funds. But it was so worth it. We’ll be eating rice and beans until 2015…. but it was so worth it.
You have such a beautiful family!
Omg, I am dying over how flipping cute Caleb is in his suit! Ahh! You guys deserved a big ole party after all that work to bring that sweetie into the world! 🙂
P.S. I love that dress on you! the color the print, the everything!
