I’ve done it every year since I was born. My mother and her cousin would take the kids to Manhattan to see Santa at Macy’s on 34th street. When I had children of my own, I told my husband we needed to do the same thing and it’s something I look forward to every December.
We took Natalie out of school for the day and hopped on the train yesterday morning.
Santaland is wonderful. Thankfully, we got there around 10 so there were NO LINES. We took our time and shot a million pictures, but made it through to Santa in about 10 minutes. BLISS!
The kids were super excited!
Then we got to the big guy – the kids were speechless.
Natalie didn’t want to sit on his lap – so she put her doll there and Santa played along. I thought this photo was hilarious!
When we were finished, we headed out of Macy’s to look at the window displays. They are always so amazing.
It was about 10:30 at this point and I can’t tell you how CROWDED it was. INSANE!
Someone was nice enough to take our picture together. I wanted to hug him because we never get family shots like this.
Then it was off to see the tree.
And once again, some super awesome stranger offered to take our pic. I was so excited!! PS it was about 60 degrees. We were all sweating!
Before we went home, we stopped in Magnolia Bakery for some cupcakes. Whenever I am near Radio City – I make sure to pick up a treat.
I will be working off this puppy for DAYS. 🙂
