Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam

Yesterday, I went to the Marie Robinson salon to check out the new Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam. This is quite a new innovation in at-home hair color systems. Instead of a liquid formula, this one is in the form of a foam. You mix the ingredients in pretty much the same way you would a liquid formula, except that you change the cap of the bottle to a foam cap. When you squeeze the bottle, it comes out a light, easy to control foam. Renowned hair colorist, Marie Robinson, was on hand to show me a few tips. She’s worked with everyone, from Natalie Portman and Liv Tyler to Michelle Williams and Keri Russell.

I tried coloring a model’s hair to test out the product and was really surprised at how easy it was. I kept thinking I had to pump the top of the bottle but all I had to do was squeeze the middle and the foam came out. This was great because my hands were slippery from the solution. There’s also a whole lot more product for your buck. The amount of it just would not decrease! I did the model’s hair (it didn’t fall out like I thought it would) and loved the results.

I like that Clairol thought of how they could make at-home coloring systems easier for women. Many women simply don’t have the time to go to a salon or maybe they can’t afford it. The liquid formulas are so messy and you end up staining half your towels and bathroom things. This formula turns to a liquid only when it touches the hair so it stays where you want it.

The best part about going to the event last night was learning that you, our readers, get to benefit from it. Go to Clairol’s Facebook page ( and like it. You then get a free sample of the new Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam to try out yourself. Awesome, right?

Keep your eyes peeled for the new Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam, in stores this February.

I tried using Nice’n Easy form today. I purchased the 5A Medium Ash Brown. After applying it to my hair my husband noticed that it was really dark. After washing it off and drying my hair it was black. I was so upset. I called my sister-in-law how is a beaution and she told me to go buy light golden blond to lighten it up. I am not a happy camper. I plan on getting in touch with the company to let them know what happened. To hair dyes in one day is not great for the hair.

I tried the Light Golden Brown yesterday. The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming smell. It reminds me of rancid beer with fumes. The application was easy enough, not much different from applying the creamy solution though. I definitely noticed the lack of suds when rinsing. I’m used to feeling like I’ve at least shampooed with other brands that lather up during the rinse. The color looked uneven initially but after shampooing today it’s blended. Overall, I’m not that impressed.
