Brunch With @Sony President Phil Molyneux: Learning About The Sony Xperia Tablet Z

The good people over at Techlicious invited me to attend a brunch at the Saveur’s test kitchens so I could have the opportunity to learn a little more about the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.  Little did I know I would be bumping elbows with Sony Electronics President and COO Phil Molyneux. And I mean that quite literally. We sat next to one another during the FAN-TABULOUS (yes that’s a word) meal and he was very open to receiving questions from the group.

I know we’ve all heard about tablets before. In fact, I’m sure that you already own one (or three depending on how many children you have). But the Sony Xperia Tablet Z definitely offers something the others do not. Let me just jump right to it:

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z Can Get Wet

And I don’t mean a little wet. I mean it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. I actually saw a demonstration of this and held my breath the entire time. They actually asked for a volunteer to dump the tablet into the water and no one from the group would do it because we were all afraid. LOL!

Anyway – 30 minutes. This means if it gets dirty you can run it right under the sink to wash it off. If your little one drops it in the tub – it’s not a big deal. If you are at the pool and it somehow makes it way off your float – no sweat off your back.

This is why we were at the Saveur kitchen making biscuits. The chef was getting flour everywhere and then simply cleaning it off – no problem.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z Is Sand / Dust Resistant

Small particles are no match to this tablet. I’m not saying you should bury the darn thing during your next beach visit. But it won’t get affected during a dust up.

The Sony Xperia Tablet Is LIGHT And THIN

Honestly – it’s .27 inches thin (a pencil is bigger) and it weighs only 1.09 pounds! So easy to carry around.

The Sony Xperia Tablet  Has A Nice Size Screen

I know there are some mini versions of tablets out on the market but I can’t get behind them. I need screen! The Sony Xperia has 10.1″ of full HD reality display.

If you are an accessories kinda gal, then you will appreciate this docking station. It makes following recipes so EASY to do. I love that you can have your tablet facing upright now. Slides right in.

Here we were watching some video while connecting to a SONY speaker (which took about 2 seconds to do by the way). Another great feature. Think about it. Want to show a new video to the grandparents while they are over for dinner? Show the whole table at once.

I’m pretty much sold on the fact that it can get wet! With kids, that makes such a difference, especially in the kitchen and uh, the bathroom.

I am always looking up recipes on line and following them on my laptop- which is kind of bulky for the kitchen lol

  5. As someone who has lost a computer when about an ounce of Diet Coke spilled into the keyboard, I can appreciate water resistance. I do use my current tablet while cooking, too, and I can’t tell you how many near misses I’ve had with splashes and wet hands!

Plus? Toddlers. Two of them. I’m down for water resistant-anything!
