In our annual tradition, the family headed out to see Santa Claus at Macy’s on 34th street. This was where I visited every single year as a child and now I get to take my children to carry on this wonderful tradition with my husband. I just adore Santaland!
We arrived around 9AM on Saturday morning and there was already a line. So, the big lesson here is to get to Macy’s Santaland EARLIER than 9AM. What?! I thought I was beating the crowd. Nope. Not this year. A few of my friends took their kids out of school to do this traditional NYC holiday visit… but we ventured in on a weekend along with everyone else on the planet.
But that’s ok because once you get into Santaland, it’s a TON of fun. You are immediately greeted by an elf with loads of Christmas joy. He played a few games with the kids as we waited to get into the room to help pass the time. So, it was never an issue.
And then, you simply loop around and enjoy the magic. Every year, I say that I am going to bring my real camera but never end up doing it. I rather spend the time enjoying every second of Macy’s Santaland with my kids and capturing quick snaps from my phone. It is what it is – grainy and real.
And then — the VISIT! The kids went right over to Santa and started up with their list. It was so cute. I loved every second of this adventure. All three kids had on winter boots because it was snowing that day. So, Batman made the shot! LOL!
Wonderful day at Macy’s Santaland!!!
I’m going to post a video about our holiday adventures – coming up!!
Have you ever been to Santaland? What did you think about your trip?
