I Have A Crush On The Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

Last week, I had the chance to test drive the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet in Dallas, Texas with a few of my blogging buddies. I will say that Jessica from ‘Mommas Gone City’ said she had a crush on the car first. So, I totally stole this title from her. BUT I told her I would… so that makes it ok, right? 🙂

Back to the Murano CrossCabriolet – it’s the world’s first all-wheel drive crossover convertible. I actually own a Murano and really like the way the car drives. So the thought of having one that was a convertible made me really excited! And BOY did Nissan NOT disappoint.

I want. I want. I want!!!

I made a video of the trip — check it out!!

As you can see, the Murano CrossCabriolet is a two door. They put 7 extra inches on the front door and streamlined the look and feel to resemble a sportier ride.  There is enough room in the back for adults (and car seats – we tested it out). So, even though it’s a two door, the Murano CrossCabriolet gives you enough space that makes you feel like you are riding in a 4 door. Great news for back seat passengers!

Let’s talk about trunk space – because I was worried that the convertible top would take up the entire back. It doesn’t! When the top is up, your trunk space is about 12 cubic feet and when the top down you still have 7.6 cubic feet to fill. That is enough room for 2 sets of golf clubs or 2 carry on suitcases!

Now let’s talk colors!! Six exterior colors are available: unique Murano CrossCabriolet colors Sunset Bronze and Caribbean, plus Merlot, Platinum Graphite, Super Black and Pearl White. My absolute FAVORITE is the Caribbean. My whole life I’ve stuck with dark colors for my cars, but that light blue is calling my name. Makes me want to move to California and drive up and down the coast.

What do you think about the look? I LOVE the feel of the car because it drives like a smoother SUV AND you don’t have to step DOWN to get in. After driving an SUV for so long, I hate getting into regular cars. With the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet you step UP which is a real treat. Have you ever tried to sit in a Corvette? I need like 3 people to pull me out each time I do! LOL

You are still high above off the ground with the CrossCabriolet.

The Murano CrossCabriolet is scheduled to go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in spring 2011.
