Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole Recipe Ingredients
- ½ Cup Butter
- ¼ Cup Flour
- 1 can Chicken Broth
- 1 Cup Milk
- 26 oz. Hash Browns frozen
- 1 Onion diced
- 8 oz. Colby Jack Cheese shredded
- ½ tsp Pepper
Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole Instructions
Preheat oven to 350˚.
In a small sauce pan over medium low heat melt ¼ cup of butter and then whisk in the flour. Cook for 2 minutes while repeatedly whisking.
Turn up the heat to about a medium high flame and then slowly whisk in the chicken broth.
Slowly whisk in the milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened. Add the remaining ¼ cup of butter and stir until melted. Remove from heat.
In a large bowl, combine the hash browns, onion, cheese, and pepper.
Pour the milk mixture over the hash browns and toss to coat.
Pour the mixture into a lightly greased 13x9 inch baking dish and bake at 350˚ until bubbly and browned, 40-50 minutes.
