Talk About Getting Creative: Check Out These Eco-Chic Handbags

Wow! I feel like I need to start collecting things… all types of things! You never know what is going to become hot in the fashion industry. Take a look at this handbag collection made entirely from recycled aluminum pop-tops.

What’s your take? Do you love it or hate it?

Chica Rosa – Silver: $39

Carry it as a coin purse inside a shoulder bag or alone as a tiny clutch; it’s just big enough to hold your car keys, cell phone, cash and a lipstick. Hand crocheted with 200 recycled aluminum pop-tops. Comes with nylon fabric liner and YKK zipper closure.

Francisca – Black: $84

Brought to you by Escama, these sharp-looking handbags are made by overlapping and weaving together recycled soda can tabs. Yup, 100 % post-consumer recycled aluminum tabs, the ones you pull to open a can of soda. Each bag has a zipper closure, hand crocheted padding, and a zippered pouch inside for extra convenience. These handbags are made in Brazil by the women of the Cia do Lacre and 100 Dimensao Cooperatives. Inside of each bag is a card with the name of the artist who crocheted the piece.

Masha – Silver: $180
Designed for women who like to keep their hands free, the Masha slings across the chest and hangs comfortably on your hip. Supple and lightweight, it’s hand crocheted with over 1,600 recycled aluminum pull-tabs. Comes with nylon fabric liner, YKK zipper closure, one inside zipped pocket, shoulder strap with hand crocheted padding.
