Private Cupcake Frosting Lesson From The Cake Boss! #BetterWithMMs

Say what? I had the chance meet Buddy Valastro earlier this week thanks to my friend Amy Oztan (aka Selfish Mom) and M&Ms. The Cake Boss gave 6 of us a private lesson on cupcake frosting and cookie decorating. I was totally inspired and honored and… hungry! I was so hungry! All those M&Ms… give me a break!!

We had pretty easy instructions. Follow the Cake Boss and do what he does but give it our own twist. We used a turning table – which I now know that I absolutely need in my kitchen – and I have to admit I was pretty happy with the way my cupcake turned out. I even used green and red M&Ms to make it look like a Christmas tree. Buddy said he liked what I did. That is one compliment I will take and keep!!!

cake_boss_3We also decorated cookies. To the left is Buddy’s Happy Birthday cookie and to the right was mine. I gave up after the word “Happy”. LOL. But I added M&Ms — so that gives me extra points, right?

In the end it was so much fun. The entire point of the event was to get a little creative in the kitchen and to use products like M&Ms to add a little flare to your sweets. They are easy and festive — just perfect for the holidays.
