Oatmeal chocolate chip bars are thick and chewy and filled with ooey, gooey chocolate – which makes them the perfect go-to dessert recipe on days when you are looking for something sweet.

If you like chewy chocolate chip cookies, but prefer them with an oatmeal twist, you will love this recipe. And the bar design makes it so easy to transport for hostesses. You don’t really need to cut it until you get to your destination.
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars
The best thing about these oatmeal chocolate chip bars is they take around 30 minutes to make, and are so much faster to make than individual cookies. Think about it – with cookies, you have to mold each cookie and then place them on a pan. Sometimes I have to cook two sets of pans because I can’t fit the entire batch in my oven at once!

With oatmeal chocolate chip bars, everything goes in at ONCE! BAM! I just love that.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars Ingredient Substitution
For this chocolate chip cookie bar, I decided to have a little fun. Instead of using traditional chocolate chips – which I ALWAYS DO – I opted for chocolate covered cranberries. When cooking, the chocolate around the cranberries melts and the cranberries remain making it such a delectable treat to find!
You can opt to stick to the traditional chocolate chips, or you can switch out to the chocolate covered cranberries – that will be up to you. I just wanted to give you an option!

II also decided to swap traditional milk with Planet Oat Oatmilk because I am lactose sensitive. I’m not intolerant, just sensitive. In fact, I headed to the doctor just last month to officially find out if I had a full-blown allergy, and thankfully I do NOT.
Planet Oat Oatmilk allows me to still enjoy my cereal in the morning and my desserts at night. It doesn’t feel like I am sacrificing anything when it comes to experience, taste, flavor, or consistency. So, in this recipe, I added in Planet Oat Oatmilk into the mix and also served myself a piece of the chocolate chip bar with a nice tall glass of oatmilk on the side.

Planet Oat has harnessed the power of the mighty little oat to give you a delicious and nutritious oatmilk. I’m talking flavor that is rich, creamy, full-bodied and naturally sweet.
There’s a Planet Oat for every palate, too. Flavor varieties include Original, Extra Creamy, Vanilla, and Dark Chocolate – perfect for everything from coffee, your favorite recipes, and being enjoyed by the glass! Best of all is that it’s for everyone – it’s free of dairy, gluten, soy, and peanuts. You can find Planet Oat nationwide at Kroger, Shaw’s, Amazon Fresh, and other major retailers.
