Nanette Lepore is without fail one of my most favorite shows to attend during Fashion Week, and the Spring/Summer 2013 collection full of fun clothes ready to wear right off the runway did not disappoint.
Nanette Lepore set the tone of her show with the live performance by the Brazilian Girls who kept the models rocking down the runway to high energy bossa nova-rock beats.
Inspired by a museum collection of delicate china, Nanette Lepore’s “techno porcelain” collection was full of feminine bright prints in classic silhouettes that were as wearable as the were chic. The collection featured fun toile inspired patterns in black set against bright greens, corals and sky blues. The effect was a feminine print with a subtle edge that pushed the look away from girly to sophisticated.
On surprise in the collection was the addition of swimwear and gorgeous cover-up dresses that had me wanting to book a beach vacation, if only for the excuse do a little shopping.
