My Fashion’s Night Out at The Plaza

On Fashion’s Night Out, I chose one activity to do that I thought I would really enjoy. The Plaza Hotel was the location for the CFDA’s Pop-Up store, the CFDA Fashion Incubator. Several designers showcased a look from their collection and interacted with consumers. These designers were chosen by the CFDA in their goal to support the next generation of fashion designers. The lines chosen included Ruby Kobo, Bibhu Mohapatra, Sang A, Prabal Gurung and Tom Scott.

A Young Blood makeup artist was also on hand to do makeovers and chat with consumers about their favorite looks and how to achieve them. A fun game of ‘Pin The Accessory On The Icon’ was in motion when I stopped by. Pictures of Anna Wintour, Michael Bloomberg and Karl Lagerfeld were on the wall. Consumers were blindfolded and encouraged to pin an apple, a pair of sunglasses and a bow-tie on the correct person. Manicures were available from Zoya manicurists.

Guests from the Plaza were treated to a concert from Corinne Bailey Ray. The night was a major success, as crowds of consumers milled around and got familiar with new and experienced brands alike.
