Over the weekend, my children made snowball cookies with their grandmother. This is something they do every single year. My mom and I used to bake these cookies as well. We even went to see the Santa at Macy’s on 34th street for the 6th year in a row.
Always special moments!
After having children, New Year’s Eve became pretty low key. I don’t cook that day. Instead, we order either Chinese or Greek and chow down while using paper plates. It’s all about simplicity. I can’t wait for this weekend, because my best friend is coming to stay with us for two days – a tradition I hope we continue for many years to come.
I’m hosting on New Year’s Day for about 30 members of my family. Typically, my grandmother hosts but I offered to take it since her house can no longer fit everyone now that grandchildren and great grandchildren have been added to the picture.
