On Labor Day, we headed to the beach. Usually, we visit some friends but they didn’t have their party this year. We kept it really casual and decided to spend a few hours riding some waves. It was so CROWDED. I don’t think I ever saw this particular beach with that many people. Normally, there’s maybe 10 families per lifeguard station. On Labor Day, you could barely find a spot in the sand! WOW!
I didn’t put Caleb in a bathing suit because he HATES the sand and the ocean. He’s more of a pool guy. The waves scare him. We hung back and watched the older two have some fun. And BOY did they have fun.
They jumped and ducked and swam and rode and slammed into hundreds of waves. It reminded me of my childhood. I did the same exact thing of course. But I did it further out. I wouldn’t let them go where I used to go. I am a scaredy cat mom and I’m not afraid to admit that.
It was the perfect day. We got there around 3PM or so which meant that the sun wasn’t that bad either. A few hours celebrating the last day of the summer with sand between our toes. I loved every second.
