Inside The Kitchen: Duncan Dumplings

YUMMY! Thanks to Carly for sending in her family favorite: Duncan Dumplings!!

-6 Granny Smith apples
-2 boxes, Jiffy pie crust
-2/3 stick butter
-4 tablespoons sugar
-3 tablespoons cinnamon

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees

-Prepare pie crust according to box directions. Roll out pie crust using flour to dust surface.

-Place apple on pie crust dough and cut a circle large enough to wrap around entire apple leaving the top open (save leftover dough to cover tops of apples later)

-Place apples in rimmed baking dish

-Mix sugar and cinnamon together and fill core of apple with 1/3 tablespoon cinnamon sugar mixture

-Cut butter into pieces and stuff pieces evenly into core of apples

-Fill core of apple with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture

-Cover top core of apple with left over pie crust dough and cover baking dish with tin foil, bake for 15 minutes, then remove tin foil and bake for 45 more minutes

-Serve with ice cream and enjoy
