Emerson Spring 2013 Fashion Show #NYFW #MBFW

The Spring/Summer 2013 collection for Emerson was straight-up fun and girly, with a dash of 60’s mod and just a little modern-day edge. Designer Jackie Fraser-Swan had styled the models perfectly with undone braided crowns, dark smokey eyes, and nude lips, which worked perfectly with the clothes coming down the runway.

While most of the collection stayed true to the monochromatic black and white palette we’ve been seeing from many designers this season, Fraser-Swan used secondary colour themes of vibrant blues, bright reds and of-the-moment digital prints that really popped off the catwalk.

The hem lines were short, with a gorgeous 60’s influenced tweed skirt suit and black leather dresses with white peplum details, mid-length asymmetrical high-low hems, and maxi length flowing silk dresses with structured leather bodices.

My favourite pieces of the collection were definitely the easy separates, with leather details like her silk bomber jacket with a peter pan collar, and the black-and-white-moto-jacket-meets-trench-coat amazingness. The wearability of the entire collection has definitely made this show a highlight for me.
