Field Report: Donna Karan New York Spring 2012 #NYFW

Donna Karan’s passion for Haitian culture and New York sophistication merged, as she unveiled her Spring 2012 collection. “Everything is a work of art, a stroke of the body- to illuminate the creative power of a woman,”said Donna.

Her Casual Luxe Collection is all about sportswear; jumpsuits, t-shirt bodydresses and parkas – making a woman’s journey to Parrot Cay or Hamptons stylish and comfortable. The leather studded belts, cuffs and horn pendants edge up the soft look.

“The more global the world, the more individual the woman,” said Donna Karan about her Collection completed with tribal prints (inspired by Haitian artist Philippe Dodar), earthy tones and a-symmetry.

Spring is a great season for mixing and matching your wardrobe and this Spring entwine your feminine side with edgy, powerful woman that you are!

The show was an inspirational experience, and just like the clothes the atmosphere was filled with tribal beats. Of course, there was celebrity sighting and I took few shots of Nina Garcia and Rose McGowan.
