Sigh. Bathing suit shopping is exhausting! I’m giving something new a shot. Who KNOWS if it’s going to work – but when free shipping is involved, I’m there. What do you think about these high-waisted bikinis I found online? If I’m being honest, I don’t know how I feel about them. I can always return them… and odds are I will.

What type of bathing suit do you wear over the summer?

In case you were interested in where I got the above styles: the first one is from Free People and the second is from Urban Outfitters.

  1. Ummm…I say no way! I think they are so ugly!! One pieces are so in right now and thank goodness! This mom bod is thin but not tone enough to show all the extra shakey, shakey if you know what I mean :/ Just my opinion

Not crazy about them. I think if you don’t want to do a normal bikini you should just for a cute one piece instead of these high waisted bikinis.

Honestly, I don’t think they look good on anyone. I usually like retro stuff…and this is reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, but still I don’t like them. For me, it’s like the one piece w/big cut-outs. They just don’t flatter anyone.

I know what bugs me about them – the bottoms look like granny panties. And those do not look good on anyone.

VERA! What happened to the strapless printed one from your bathing suit post before this? It was beautiful. I know I’ve never met you in person, but I honestly think you are probably being MUCH too hard on yourself. The next one that you like even a little – just stick with it and don’t stress. Don’t suck all the fun out of your summer w/the bathing suit issue – unless you really LOVE trying all these on…then, I guess, go for it! LOL!

I NEED a high waisted bathing suit because of my long torso. I can’t do boy shorts, or low rise bottoms because it will make my short legs look even shorter. Models all have long legs and short torsos, so maybe that’s why a lot of these high waist bathing suits look gross on them. These suits flatter long torsos while hispter bottoms flatter short torsos.
