Amika Introduces New Product Line

Lady and the Blog was invited to check out Amika’s line of hair products and hair tools. Amika is centered around the Obliphica berry, which is known for its regenerative and toning properties. This ingredient is made into a non-greasy formula that, when used in the hair, can result in less split ends, stronger hair follicles and silkier strands. The line of hair care products include the oil in a pure form, a hydration cream, a nourishing hair mask and a shine spray, among others.

The Amika team introduced us to the line of hair tools and showed us how to use them. Their tools all have funky designs, like pink leopard. My favorite is the tattoo design. Their tools include stylers (like a flat iron), curlers and blowdryers. One of the stylists tried the styler on my hair. I have tight curls so I was a bit suspicious as to how well this tool would work on my hair. The styler is said to be better than flat irons because the plates are 100% ceramic while flat irons are only coated in ceramic, There is also a floating plate, which means you can do waves, curls and flips without having to use another tool. The stylist separated my hair in preparation and glided the tool over the section. It straightened in one go! Usually, the first time takes some of my curl out and I have to do it 3 or 4 times to completely straighten it. This was really impressive! My ends were a bit dry because of all the product I had in it from before but overall, the styler did a good job.

Another tool that caught my eye was the clip-free curler. This baby warms right up in 15 seconds! It doesn’t have a clamp, which eliminates that crimped effect. This one comes with a glove so that you can protect your hands from the heat. Its really easy to use and maintains an even temperature throughout.

The stylers range from $110-$400.
