People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily
I was binging on YouTube videos yesterday about a particular topic that I am obsessing over and heard someone said the above quote. It really struck me. An oldie but a goodie for sure.
I guess that’s why the motivational industry is booming. People purchase one book after the other because we all need to get a little push now and then to continue on our path. Dreams are big. They are forever expanding and sometimes they can feel way out of our grasp. Whenever I feel like I have bitten off more than I can chew, I just take a step back and start to read. Learning calms me. When I grow, it makes me feel like I am in control. And when I am in control, I lose the urge to quit.
I am aware of myself. I can sense when the tides are starting to rise and when I need to do a little bit of self-care. But I never stop walking. I might slow down… but I always continue down that same path.
I refuse to let anything stop me when I have a goal in mind. The only thing in my way is myself. Thank goodness for that! I am in complete control of her. 🙂 Well, sort of. LOL!
We are so blessed to live in a day and age where information is seeping out of our laptops. It is oozing into our bedrooms and just waiting to be consumed. I want it all. The energy ignites me.
One of my favorite places to go to read motivational articles is Medium.com. Once I’ve had my fill over there, I usually head over to YouTube and search for whatever topic I am interested in along with the words “success” or “hits” attached to it. So, for example, if I was interested in cupcake baking, I would search “cupcake baking success” or “cupcake baking hits.” At that point, it’s a blind leap down really dark rabbit holes that can take up my entire day if I let them.
As far as timeframes are concerned, I typically do this around 8AM or around 10PM. I can’t start midday because I will LITERALLY DO NOTHING BUT WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS ALL DAY. That won’t pay my mortgage. I mean, it might pay the YouTubers mortgage… but not mine.
How do you seek out motivation? What are you aiming for these days?
