Two years ago, my son Liam had his appendix removed and spent several days in the hospital due to complications. I still remember all the special things the Children’s Hospital did for us while we made his small room our home base for that time. They brought in clowns. They potted flowers with him and they even gave him a sewing lesson. Super cute!
We didn’t have a special kids’ gown but I know as someone who lived with a scared kid for over a week… it would have made a difference. That’s why when I saw this article about a kickstarter for Courage Gowns, I knew I had to spread the word.
They are currently seeking finances for their line of medical outfits specifically designed to look like different professions, from police officers to ballerinas. Too cute! The gowns can be used in a hospital for x-ray, MRI or CT scans, but they could also be used at the dentist or even for reluctant or squirmy youth in need of a haircut.
What will the Kickstarter funds be used for?
The money raised will help the team purchase the initial run of inventory of Courage Gowns. They will then send out sample gowns and brochures to potential customers for use in the health care field such as hospitals and dental clinics. They will also be using the proceeds to further improve and enhance their current designs.
