My Favorite Breakfast: Bacon, Egg And Cheese Recipe

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sargento® Cheese for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Oh, how I love a good bacon, egg, and cheese. I mean… I LOVE it. It’s my FAVORITE breakfast of all time. Growing up, my family would go off to diners known for elaborate and sweet creations, and I would order the same thing every Sunday – my staple. Many decades later, not much has changed and not surprisingly my children have taken on my affection for this food as well.

Ingredients are everything. They are the core to a great recipe. So, let’s get started with what you need to make the perfect bacon, egg, and cheese. Oh and by the way – I’m a purist. I know that people like to add things like avocado or hot sauce to their morning sandwich… and that’s all fine and dandy. But I take it as it’s meant to be.

Bacon, Egg, And Cheese Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 slices of Sargento® Sliced Cheese
  • 1 fresh bun
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • Optional ketchup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Sargento® stands for real, natural cheese and I am a real cheese lover. Pasteurized Process Cheese Food (PPCF) is only required to contain 51% real cheese; however, Sargento® Slices are always 100% real, natural cheese.  That is SUPER important to me as the primary chef for my family. 100% is the only option.

  1. Place butter into frying pan and melt over medium heat. Fry egg or cook however you’d like. Some like scrambled. Go for it!
  2. Meanwhile, cook bacon according to package directions. I like to bake my bacon (400 degrees for 15-20 minutes).  Others like to use their microwaves because it’s much quicker. I will leave that up to you!img_2828
  3. Place optional ketchup on the inside of the open bun. Layer the rest of the ingredients and make sure to fold in the bacon so the majority of the pieces are inside the sandwich. Place back on pan (low heat) for just a few moments so the cheese melts through and then plate. Cut in half.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

Like I said, you can add anything you’d like to this bacon, egg, and cheese. Top with salsa, guacamole, or hashbrowns! Whatever you’d like! But start here – start fresh. Start easy!

To win at the bacon, egg, and cheese… you need fresh ingredients. I’m talking about that bun too. You need a soft and deliciously fresh bun. Don’t waste your time with anything that is stale and old. It will ruin the entire experience.

I try to stay away from over-processed foods at all costs. Sargento® is a staple in my house because I know that when I serve my children their cheese sandwiches for lunch, they are getting 100% cheese with every bite.

There are over 30 varieties of cheeses conveniently sliced from blocks of real, natural cheese to add delicious flavor to hand-crafted sandwiches. To learn more about what Sargento® has to offer you and your family, click here.

  1. This is one of my all time favorite breakfast options. I usually skip the bacon and add turkey instead because I am always running late! But yum!

  2. Yum, this looks delicious. I should make something like this using English muffins or my bagels. Sargento cheese is the best too.

  3. Dang it. This Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich looks like the perfect breakfast!! I could seriously eat this every day and never get tired of this!! YUM!!

  4. It is 5 am and I am starving. After reading this post I am even hungrier. My teens love bagel sandwiches like this for breakfast. Yum!

  5. Perfect timing! Hubby was just asking for a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast today. 🙂 Thanks for the recipe!
