Last week, the family hit the road and headed to Kalahai Resorts in the Poconos. Did you miss my two daily vlogs (here and here) about the trip? I gave you a pretty inclusive look at the property through YouTube. Either way, not everyone likes video — so here’s a photo driven review for those of you who like the static and the soundless. 🙂
The room was big enough for my family of 5. We had two bed and a pull out couch. The “kitchen” area offered up a microwave, mini fridge and a coffee maker. If I’m being honest with you, we really didnt’ spend any time in the room. Like… none. Only to sleep. It was all about the waterpark!
As you walked around the lobby and the property, you stumbled upon African designs and recreations. You couldn’t miss the inspiration! It was everywhere and it was beautiful. We actually took a few moments to walk around and appreciate all the art in the lobby. It was really stunning. Here are a few more shots –>
(my personal favorite – it’s almost like she has a soul)
Of course, no vacation wouldn’t be complete without a little dessert… and boy does Kalahari Resorts offer up some great options! My kids were BEGGING me for one of these Caramel Apples!! And yes, in case you were wondering… we caved at the end of the trip. After lunch, it was off to the water park! The kids had an absolute BLAST and so DID I! We went on all the slides over and over again. The check in staff said they hotel was at 98% occupancy, but it didn’t feel crowded at ALL. In fact, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a slide and that was LONG if I’m really thinking about it. We went right on almost every single slide. It was incredible.

Caleb spent the majority of his time in the little kid section and smiled this hard for two days straight. He would move there if he could!! Water paradise!!
If we weren’t on the lazy river, we were spraying one another with water hoses! If we weren’t racing down slides, we were waiting to get dunked on right under the Splash Down Safari Sign. So happy. Great memories for all!
And to boot – my first cousin worked there! We had no idea! What a treat!! We literally bumped into her and it was a complete shock. So nice to catch up with family in a most unexpected way. 🙂
I digress —
Back to the Splash Down Safari Sign. Check out the water in motion!
