Head over to the Pie Boxes file and click customize now. Once the file opens up it’s ready to cut and all you have to do is click the green cricut button. Using the cricut is so easy and it shows you the number of mats needed as well as what color papers you should have on those mats. (The colors are just a guideline and I mixed mine up a little for fun.) This file is set to make 3 pie boxes and you can add or delete if you choose to make more or less.

If you choose to make all 3 pie boxes you’ll be doing a total of 7 mats with paper changes in between. I chose to make only 2 this time around and they turned out perfect.

Depending on which mat you are on you will select your material using the turn dial for your preference. (Example: Vinyl, Cardstock, Paper and more)

Once the cuts are complete remove the paper/vinyl from the mat and set aside.

After all 7 mats are cut it’s time to start assembling. I laid out all the pies in front of me and start with the tags and vinyl first. Taking the word pie apply a piece of clear transfer paper over it and apply it to your tags and press down firmly.

After that was done I started the assembly of the box by folding all the score lines in the appropriate place and then assembling the tabs with glue. The assembly part was so easy and it came together perfect!

Once the box base was completed I placed the top on and glued my orange fall leaf to the top at an angle. Once the leaf was glued down I applied my pie tag with a piece of baker’s twine to complete the box. This file recommends the use of burlap to close the box but it just didn’t suit my style for this project so I skipped it.
