Clean eating sucks.
I’m sorry – it’s true.
Ok. Let me rephrase.
Clean eating sucks if you are the one that has to shop for all the ingredients and cook for the family. I LOVE going to great restaurants and ordering food that is hand prepared and made with care. BUT when it’s all up to me… man, I just want to defrost something and call it a day after I used up all my energy from dealing with the kids and work.
I’m having major issues — allergy issues. I think it’s a new allergy to sulfites (from what I’m reading online) and BOY will that be a problem if it’s true.
Want to know what I can’t eat if this happens?
Beer and wine
Sparkling grape juice
Bottled lemon juice and lime juice
Fresh or frozen shrimp
Dehydrated, pre-cut or peeled potatoes
DID YOU READ THAT LIST? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? I CAN’T HANDLE THIS!
I’ve had to eat really clean the last few days because I’m not allowed to take any medication before my appointment with my allergist. So, if I have a flare up — I’d be SCREWED. And I can’t have a flare up and not be able to take meds. My entire neck and face would EXPLODE with itchy hives. Two nights ago I was scratching them with a bristle brush to get to them – that’s how bad it was.
So, for the next 7 days, I have to eat as clean as possible. UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH
How did I find this out?
Red wine. White wine. Pepperoni. Salami. Cold Cut sandwich — all in a week. Flipping explosion.
I feel good right now mind you. But I’ve been eating grilled chicken and vegetables — so that makes sense.
If I have a sensitivity to sulfites and that means that I will have to live a life of BALANCE … I will be able to handle it. BUT IF I AM STRAIGHT UP ALLERGIC, I am going to cry the ugly cry for days and days and days.
My appointment is in a week. I will keep you posted. I’m really not trying to think about it as I think only about it every waking second of my day…
