Did you know that Bella – the founder – was only 14 when she came up with the concept of Origami Owl. I love hearing stories like that! There are over 60K Designers officially sharing stories through jewelry at Origami Owl which means there are a lot of options to choose from! I’m a girl that loves options. I chose two charms for my bracelet. This year, I noticed that astrology has been making a huge comeback in the jewelry industry and it has always be on my mind to purchase something with my zodiac sign. When I saw that Origami Owl had a collection with Scorpio… I jumped at it! FINALLY, after months of toying with the idea, I can actually wear this piece.
And while I am not Greek, I was raised in Astoria – an immigrant town in NYC that was heavily populated by the culture in the 70s and 80s. The Watchful Eye is a symbol I was very accustomed to as a child. The Matiasma helps protect its owner from people wishing to do him/her harm. If someone is looking at your with negative thoughts, the charm is supposed to reflect that stare. We’ve all heard about the evil eye, right? Well this symbol is supposed to REFLECT THAT! You stare at me with ill intentions and the charm reflects them which protects me and my spirit. I loved it as a child and I love it to this day. I own several pieces like this, but none as beautifully made. If you’d like to host a Jewelry Bar, grab a bunch of girlfriends and make it happen! You will have an amazing night with friends and fall in love with a great collection of jewelry.
The Mission of Origami Owl:
