The Makeup Academy is the newest beauty brand to launch at CVS exclusively. I spend the morning geeking out on all the colors and the varieties. It was time well spent. The Makeup Academy launched with a wide range of lip, lashes and brush options. The best part is that most items are below $20. Trips to CVS are never going to be the same again.
If you’re into lips, The Makeup Academy launched with a wide range of colors and types for your every mood. They offer everything from balms, matte, shiny lipsticks to primers and liners. I usually lean towards matte lipsticks so I fell in love with their Poppy color. Bright colors are still having a moment and this color just pops. There are also different levels of coverage. There’s the Intense Color Moisture Balm ($8) so you don’t have to sacrifice color to keep your lips from drying out. There’s also the Lip Stain ($9) which is for lighter coverage. These are so affordable, you can pick up a few to try out later.
A gal can never have too many brushes. The Makeup Academy knows this and is offering every imaginable type. There’s one brush for your BB or CC cream application. There’s one for stippling. There’s many an angled brush for precise application. You name it. They have it. They even have a really cute set of mini brushes for travel.
If you’ve always been intimidated by false lashes like me, The Makeup Academy takes the guesswork out of it. You can purchase lash sets for $5 but I would suggest going with the full kits. The Individual Lash Starter Kit, for instance, comes with an applicator, glue and lashes. It makes it so easy. I had some put on my eyelashes and they were fun! I expected them to feel weighted but I honestly forgot I had them on. When it was time to take them off, they peeled right off with just a little tug. If you’re a lash pro, check out their Glamour Sultry Curl Lashes. It even sounds fabulous.
