Back To School Shopping At Target Plus A $300 Gift Card Giveaway

Natalie and I headed to Target this week to take care of a HUGE shopping to-do. Back to School shopping! I really like to get things marked off my list and this one was worrying me because we have a few vacations lined up towards the end of the summer. I just KNEW that time was going to fly by over the next few weeks. Why not get a jump start on it all while I’m in the right state of mind?

Lucky for me, Target is all ready for us moms to head on in and get SHOPPING. Their Back to School section is packed with everything a child needs to get ready for the new school year. I’m talking everything. We even picked up a few fun “nice to have” items that will surely put a smile on my kids’ faces during class.

First things first… the school bag! Lots of options including character driven backpacks with Disney, Marvel and Nickelodeon favorites. I’m talking Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney Princesses and more. Or if you are into Peace Signs and Tie Die… well, they have that too.

Target also had a full line of adorable lunch boxes in the “Back to School” section. BUT I also want to note that there are many more options if you want something without characters in another aisle. Ask a sales associate to guide you.

We recently bought a Plants Vs. Zombies game for the XBox 360 and have been playing it on a nightly basis. When Natalie found folders that had the characters of the game on them, she just about hit the floor. We bought every single one they had!! We are obsessed!! Anything you want – like erasers, pencils, highlighters, glue, and jump drives – Target has RIGHT NOW on the floor. With a 2nd grader and a 4th grader, I knew that I needed to pay attention to this area.

We always make sure to give our children water bottles for snack and lunch. This year, I bought them ones that you can freeze ahead of time. LOVE THAT.

Do you have kids that have lockers? My daughter cannot WAIT to get into the 6th grade!! Once she saw that locker accessories exist, middle school was her LIFE MISSION. I think the exact quote was, “MOM! You mean to tell me I can have my very own chandelier if I have a locker?”

Yes, my child. You can…

You can also have a locker rug, mirror, racks and more. We didn’t leave this section for 10 minutes even though my daughter doesn’t own a locker.I love it!

But before we get into that, don’t you just love the MEGA highlighter from Yoobi and the monster pencil cases. They unzip and unzip until they are nothing at all. The kids went CRAZY for them!

You can coordinate your accessories if you like and of course my daughter opted for all pink. If you want to mix and match things, everything goes. It’s all up to you – all how you want to play it. We also bought two huge white boards to write down weekly tasks and schedules. We are the WORST when it comes to those things. We thought a few white boards might help!

When Guests Buy Select up&up School Supplies, Target Gives Up to $25 Million

For every select up&up school supply purchased, Target will give one school supply to a student in need, potentially impacting nearly two million kids this back-to-school season

This is something I had to put on your radar, and I’m so glad I went shopping at this time to be able to give back! For every select up&up school supply purchased at Target stores from July 13 through August 2, Target will donate one school supply item to a student in need. They are hoping to donate up to $25 million in supplies and potentially impact nearly two million kids as they head back to school. Amazing, right?? There are over 1,200 different essentials available from the up&up line at Target. So – LOTS of OPTIONS!

The program was inspired by Yoobi, a Target-exclusive brand of school supplies with a “One for You, One for Me” mission, and builds on Target’s longstanding community partnership with the Kids In Need Foundation.

In addition, the new Yoobi brand of school supplies is available exclusively at Target and supports the cause year-round. Yoobi’s “One for You, One for Me” mission means that for every Yoobi product purchased at Target, Yoobi contributes a product to a Yoobi Classroom Pack that will be distributed to K-3 classrooms in the U.S. through the Kids In Need Foundation. The Yoobi collection is available in Target stores and on Target.com and features a colorful range of products, including folders, notebooks, pens, and rulers, all for less than $10.
