We are a family that likes to explore. So, while we were on vacation at Smugglers’ Notch in Vermont, we decided to take a little ride down through Stowe. On our way, we came across a wonderful farmers market and couldn’t resist. It was right around lunchtime and thank goodness for that! We chowed down on amazing maple glazed BBQ, maple soda (which I didn’t like but the kids devoured it), fresh lemonade (literally squeezed right in front of you), freshly ground maple and ginger nut butter, and maple candy. Do you see a theme?
Hula hooping was free for all. The kids were as happy as can be!
Of course, my little one missed all the fun. He woke up at the tail end for a little jazz! The Stowe Farmers Market had this amazing jazz band from New Orleans and I wanted to buy their CD but ended up forgetting about it because of all the great food! I was BUMMED later that day. They were so good. I caught a little of one of their songs – check it out:
I had to try to do a little research to find them.
Then we went hiking… or attempted to. This city girl did not pack any hiking shoes because my brain doesn’t think that way. So, we had to do our best in flip flops. This meant we only walked for a few minutes. At least we were able to see some amazing rock formations. I mean – look at how beautiful!
And believe me – pictures do this area no JUSTICE. If you are planning on visiting Smugglers’ Notch, be sure to be prepared for some hiking time. A true sight to see.
When we got back to Smugglers’ Notch, we were told that family bingo was about to begin. How could I resist?! You could play for free (and win candy) or you could play for money and really get into the game!! Can you tell which one I opted for?? This picture cracks me up because Caleb actually looks like he THINKS he has Bingo! HAHHAHAHA
Anyway – another great day at Smugglers’ Notch! I have a few more posts to write up about Vermont. Stay tuned!

We have a cabin in Vermont and love getting up there. The people, the laid back attitude, the breathtaking scenery...there's always someplace to explore & adventures to be had! Glad you got to enjoy your visit! (and I agree, the maple soda is a pass for me....but the maple candy....a little piece is such a big treat!
