Field Report: Luca Luca Spring/Summer 2012 Collection #NYFW

One word to describe the Spring/Summer 2012 Luca Luca collection: COLOR!

Luca Luca designer Raul Melgoz’s was inspired by “the sensuality and femininity of a strong woman” and the dazzling effect of this collection was that you didn’t just want to own the clothes, you wanted to be the glamorous woman who would wear the clothes. The collection was a dazzling array of lavender, teal, raspberry pink, lime green and aqua hues so rich you could almost feel spring in the air.

The feminine and flowing gowns with lots of draping gave a glamorous 1970’s vibe without looking like a night out at Studio 54. The collection included several evening gowns in deep blue, amethyst and teal with intricate pleating details and long slits that gave them an elegance and movement as they sashayed down the runway.

The citrus and jewel tones and gorgeous gowns weren’t the only stars in the tents. The celebrity-packed front row at Luca Luca included Ashley Tisdale, Kelly Bensimon, Joanna Garcia, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Whitney Port.

As if the fabulous clothes weren’t enough, the styling and makeup took this collection to the next level. Click here to learn more on how Revlon created the Runway Look for Luca Luca.
