For Spring ’12, Christian Siriano’s inspirations were “exotic tropical underwater specimens found while traveling to Bali, Honduras, and Belize”. The daywear was a pleasing ensemble of cleanly cut blazers, blouses, and sleeveless oxfords paired with boldly colored trumpet skirts and beach comber pants.
The evening wear was a series of experiments in texture with fanciful cocktail dress and ball gown silhouettes. The palette was ruled by whites, chartreuses, corals, and oysters. Overall, the collection was fresh, accessible, and wearable.
Siriano has come a long way since his Project Runway days and he knows his target demographic well.
