Yesterday, Julianne Moore teamed up with the Children’s Health Fund and The Clorox Company to bring health care to kids in need. They kicked-off “Connect Kids to Care,” a multi-year program that will help support the Children’s Health Fund’s goal of providing half a million health care visits to disadvantaged children across the country. Julianne visited the kids and took them on a tour through one of Children’s Health Fund’s mobile medical units.
The actress spoke a lot about her connection to the cause, stating that being a mom certainly inspired her to get involved, but it was her upbringing in a military family that really drew her to this issue. Moving around a lot made her aware of the many different types of communities out there and opened her eyes to the understanding that not everyone has access to health care.
As a special treat, Julianne read to the kids from her own children’s book, “Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully.”
I applaud her for being part of this initiative!
